Here at JD Tank Company we are focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction at a reasonable rate. We will try our best to work with your budget. We are fully licensed and insured, and our employees are trained professionals. Using companies with employees that are not trained will most likely void any warranties that you have paid for. Something to keep in mind in looking for the best price.
Our services include:
Tank abandonment in place:
This is sometimes necessary due to the location of the tank. I can help you determine if this is a viable option for you. When a tank is decommissioned in place, the area of disturbance is about a 50" X 50" square. When compared to a removal, this is substantially less of an area to restore once the job has been completed safely and professionally. JD Tank Company also provides excellent ground restoration service. We aim for the motto "Looks like we were never here".
Tank removals above ground:
JD Tank Company will determine the best way for the tank to be removed from the property. If the tank is inside the home, the tank will be cut and removed of its contents properly. Carried out by hand, as to prevent any "ACCIDENTS". The holes from the vent and fill pipes will be filled with matching materials where they penetrate the outside wall. Outside above ground tanks are cut and cleaned using the same process but are removed (in most cases) whole.
Tank removals below ground:
In my opinion, this is the best solution if you have the room for the equipment. Removals, although not required by the state of NY, can cost you money in the long run if you have paid for an abandonment instead. Here's the reason why: Abandonment's are usually a bit cheaper due to less equipment being utilized. If you decide to sell your home and the new buyer is concerned about the tank it may hinder your sale and you now have to pay again to have it removed. Tanks that have been properly filled and now have to be removed are costly. My choice is always removal unless deemed absolutely necessary to leave in place. Most contractors out there count on this repeat work from you but do not tell you up front....WELL...I just did, and it's a fact! When the site of the removal is uncovered, tank is now exposed. It is professionally cleaned and properly contained. It is examined for holes and where required seen by your town inspector (all of which is handled by JD Tank Company). The excavation is now brought up to grade with clean fill. The tank is then hauled away and properly disposed of along with its contents. Vent and fill pipes are removed and the removal is complete.
Tank installations:
JD Tank Company offers professional installations of above ground tanks in sizes from 120 - 400 Gallons either vertical or horizontal, single or double walled. These tanks can be installed either inside or outside the home. Also, by manifolding tanks together you can gain extra storage for when those prices are low. These tanks offer a warranty of 10-30 years depending on tank, and most commonly are made of 12 gauge steel. These tanks are installed with 2" steel piping for both the vent and the fill utilizing a whistle vent/alarm gauge which shows the level of fuel in your tank as well. All penetrations through concrete walls are sealed with concrete, not foam like others. We only use flared fittings for our connections not compression fittings to achieve the very best result in your installation. Fuel transfer from your old tank to your new tank is FREE of charge. I use state of the art equipment producing a drip free process of transfer. I am proud to offer over a decade's worth of tank knowledge and my personal attention to your tank needs and the best solution for you. We are friendly, knowledgeable and committed to providing the very best and most cost effective service.
